Cameroonian chairs session of UN Trade Law Commission

Cameroonian magistrate Gaston Kenfack Douajni will complete on July 15 in New York, USA his mission as President of the 49th session of the United Nations International Trade Law Commission. He was elected to this function based on the proposal of the African group at the United Nations on June 27, the State Minister in charge of Justice, Laurent Easy, announced in an official communiqué.

According to the Minister of Justice, the election of this magistrate to this high function at the United Nations, is the testimony to the recognition of the influence of the Cameroonian judiciary in general, and particularly, to the dynamism of the diplomacy of the country.

A Supreme Court judge, Gaston Kenfack Douajni is currently Director of Legislation at the Ministry of Justice in his country. He is among the selected few law professionals from sub-Saharan Africa to officiate at the international level.
