According to Hervé Béril, the Managing Director of the Cameroon Postal Services (Campost), the turnover of Cameroon's public postal company is in "steady increase of about 10% per year" since the establishment of the e-post project, funded to the tune of 32 billion CFA francs by the government through a loan from Exim Bank of China.
This project that aims to digitize and interconnect all 234 post offices across the country (204 already connected), says Hervé Béril, allowed Campost to have these days, 110 VSAT and deploy approximately 710 km of optical fiber equipment that enables the company to have a "virtually autonomous network."
As a reminder, the Cameroonian postal company is currently managed by a team made available by the French Sofrepost, which renewed in June 2014, a 2 years technical assistance contract with the Cameroonian government, as part of the Campost restructuring. Contract value is 2,000,000,000 CFA francs.
