Camtel, Living Energy CMR sign solar project pact

The director general of Cameroon Telecommunications (CAMTEL), David Nkoto Emane, and counterpart of Living Energy Cameroon, Kenneth Mungu, signed on Wednesday, the contract that binds these two companies for the acquisition of equipment (panels) for producing solar energy, during the next six months, of sites belonging to the telephony operator.

The agreement which relates to a little more than a billion F (987 million of F for the main with the rest representing interests) was formalized in CAMTEL Yaounde.

CAMTEL will, in effect, Solarize 31 sites of its 800 facilities with products of its partner which is a subsidiary of a Danish group. Thus, gradually, announced Mr. Nkoto Emane, the problem of the costs of telecommunications services (telephone and Internet) judges will be solved.
