Canada offers support to Camair-Co

Bombadier is a Canadian company that manufactures planes and trains with an extensive and diverse portfolio of winning mobility solutions. The company is headquartered in Montréal, Canada and is ready to offer services to Cameroon’s national carrier, Camairc-Co.

The Canadian High Commissioner to Cameroon, Rene Cremonese, told the press in Yaounde on March 16, 2016 after talks with Transport Minister, Edgard Alain Mebe Ngo’o, that the company seeks to supply short distance aircraft to Camair-Co, adapted to the needs of Cameroon. He pointed out that the company produces business jets and commercial aircraft designed for challenges of today and « has made a number of offers to Camair-Co ».

Rene Cremonese stated that relations between Cameroon and Canada are excellent. « We are focusing now on economic partnership between the two countries, » the Canadian diplomat disclosed. He said; « Our companies are here often to explore investment opportunities. I hope to have better opportunities in Cameroon in the area of rail and ports in future. »

South Africa Prospects

“The talks were the first since the Minister’s appointment last year and an opportunity to discuss substantial issues of common economic concern,” explained the High Commissioner of South Africa to Cameroon, Zanele Makina on March 16, 2016 after meeting Edgard Alain Mebe Ngo’o. The transport sector Zanele Makina said is of interest to South Africa. The High Commissioner said she was exploring avenues of sustainable win-win partnership.

Zanele Makina noted; « We see such areas in ports. South Africa has got about four or five of them. We believe that we can learn from each other by collaborating,” Zanele Makina said. There has been significant collaboration between both countries. However, Minister Edgard Alain Mebe Ngo’o and Zanele Makina can step up cooperation ties in the air and railway sectors.
