Chamber of Agriculture and Big Dutchman sign agreement

A German multinational piggery and poultry expert (BIG DUTCHMAN), represented by Thomas Veith and the First Vice President of the Chamber of Agriculture / CAPEF, have signed a long term convention in a rather terse ceremony at the Chamber of Agriculture Douala last Monday June 30, in favor of the NYSAYO group of the Littoral Region.

The agreement is to beef-up the production of added quality beef, to satisfy the growing demand for porc, to transcend stakeholders into the second generation profitable producers, put in place adequate distribution channels, and the supply of equipment and know – how from the Germans.

To realize these goals, the partnership is to be financed by S.C.B Cameroon.

Briefing actors at all levels of this sector, representatives of Government and other special interest groups, the Coordinator of NYSAYO (a Piggery and Fishing Group) said that Cameroonians should understand that, no side gains more in these agreements.

It is a tripartite arrangement that will be financed by the S.C.B Cameroon and that BIG DUTCHMAN is expected to supply NYSAYO with affordable and adaptable technology and know – how to catch up with the growing demand of quality pork in the country.

Thomas Vieth, in the presence of the Cameroonians continental representative, Patrick Nouga Nouga stated that they are here to share their 75-years BIG DUTCHMAN experience in pig- farming and to take Cameroonian pig farmers to the next level; they will introduce quality breeds as well as standards, quality methods, environmentally – friendly technology and make pig farming a profitable investment.

A pilot project to be constructed soon will set the pace here, but it’s regrettable that a site own by NYSAYO in Douala periphery was not visited as previously planned.

The First Vice President and other actors who addressed some issues described the partnership and project as positive outcome resumption.
