The national plan for the production of cocoa and coffee in Cameroon has been validated.

The plan was validated at the Prime Minister’s office during a steering committee meeting cheered by the Minister of Territorial Administration and Decentralization, Rene Emmanuel Sadi who was representing the Prime Minister.

According to the plan, government shall increase cocoa production to 600,000 tons, Arabica coffee to 35000 tons and Robusta coffee to 150000 tons between 2015 and 2020.

To attain the target production, the head of the technical coordination unit Evariste Evane indicated that the sector needs to raise some 600 billion principally from exports, to execute the plan.

Minister Rene Sadi highlighted President Biya’s determination to improve the sector, a determination that the President first voiced on 17th January 2011 during the Agro Pastoral show held in Ebolowa.
