The Deputy Director General of Chanas assurance, the leader of the Cameroonian market in the IARDT branch has resigned from his post, indicated internal sources at the company, which is undergoing a crisis management for over a year.
A crisis resulting in a standoff between Jacqueline Cassalegno, nicknamed "Iron Lady", and administrators of the company, Société nationale des hydrocarbures (SNH). This battle for the control of Chanas assurance is at the origin of losses recorded by the company in late 2013, whose deficit is estimated at about 2 billion Cfa francs.
According to sources, a general meeting of the shareholders of Chanas assurance was held August 27, 2014 in Douala, the economic capital of Cameroon, to adopt the little bright financial statements of the year 2013.
The resignation of the Deputy DG of Chanas occured a little more than three months after the sacking of the DG, Henri Ewélé, who also held his post six months before his replacement by Albert Pamsy, appointed in April 2014.
