E-Commerce specialist, Jumia to expand to Cameroon

A very active in African online business which is actually the number 1 in online business, Jumia wants to expand its activities in Ghana and Cameroon. Boasting a perfect financial health, the installation of the company in both countries will create 100 jobs according to the Reuters news agency.

With a monthly growth of 20% Jumia can afford to conquer the parts in of Africa that eluded him until now. The leader of online trade in Nigeria is already present in Kenya, Egypt, Morocco and Ivory Coast. Jumia also plans to strengthen its presence in Uganda.

The new teams in Cameroon, Ghana and Uganda will ensure parcels packaging, delivery and customer service. They will also allow the company to reduce its dependence on the goods proposed by its Kenyan subsidiary.

In two years of existence, the company has 1500 employees and receives orders estimated at several million dollars per month according to Africa Internet Holdings (AIH) quoted by Reuters. In Nigeria, Jumia saves 400 000 subscribers and 100,000 visitors per day. The success of the company's e-commerce is explained in part by the development of ICTs on the continent. Jumia offers on its platforms, appliances, books, clothing, among other things.
