Eranove group to build 315MW thermal plant in Limbe

The Eranove group, formerly known as Finagestion, plans to build in the town of Limbe, in the southwest region of Cameroon, a thermal power plant with a capacity of 315 MW.

This was revealed in a call for tender launched on March 5, 2015 by the company for the recruitment of a desk study and engineering established to make an evaluation of the project.

The consistency of the object of the call for tender boils down to the realization of a "detailed study, an environmental and social impact study, and a business plan.

In the event of financial viability of the project, "the detailed implementation plans and tender files may be added to the delivery of the office of studies and engineering, as well as the management of the project assistance", said Eranove, who plans to build the lamina powerhouse under the BOT model, following a memorandum of understanding signed on April 22, 2014, with the Cameroonian Government.

Independent producer of electricity and water, Eranove is controlled by the Fund investments Emerging Capital Partners, its majority shareholder of (57%).

Strongly implanted in West Africa, particularly in Côte d'Ivoire through four companies (Sodeci, CIE, Awale and Ciprel), Eranove is also present in Senegal since 1996, through the Sénégalaise des eaux (SDE).

In Central Africa, Eranove has been present in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) from 2012, through a service contract operator specialized for administrative, financial and technical management services of drinking water.

The Group Eranove, which claims 1.22 million customers in Africa in the electricity sector, and 1.35 million customers in the area of drinking water and therefore, plans its second implantation in Central Africa in Cameroon.

As a reminder, this country faces an energy deficit screaming (1,200 MW installed), although with the 2nd (13,700 MW) hydroelectric potential in sub-Saharan Africa, behind the DRC.
