Inter-ministerial Team Assesses Memve'ele Hydroelectric Project Site

The Deputy Director of the Civil Cabinet yesterday, June 13 supervised the reconnaissance ceremony.

The event that took place on June 13, at the little locality of Nyabisan, the site to host the multi-billion Memve'ele Hydroelectric Power project was assuring of the fact that the project could officially be kick-started.

Supervised by Joseph LE, Deputy Director of the Civil Cabinet, the ceremony which witnessed the participation of an inter-ministerial delegation was occasion to examine with diligence the set up at the site in the event of an official ceremony to mark the beginning of work on the project.

From every indication, the stage is well set. The heliport has been completed; the grand stand and its two subsidiary stands have equally been constructed. Two giant screens have been installed by the Ministry of Communication at strategic positions to facilitate live coverage in the event of an official ceremony to grace the project.

Every bit of information on the project has equally been displayed at the project site; including the site plan, the project plan and the dummy of the hydroelectric project. Yesterday's ceremony was ably animated by the Presidential Guard band. After almost one hour of reconnaissance, the inter-ministerial delegation met at the meeting hall of the project and fine- tuned issues to ensure a hitch-free official beginning of the project.
