Members of Cameroon’s biggest micro-finance network assembled in Bamenda for celebrations marking the 2015 international Credit Union Day, on Saturday, October 17, 2015.
Speaking in Bamenda during a conference, Fombu Raphael, Bamenda Chapter president noted that the day was set aside for credit unions to evaluate themselves, celebrate achievements and find a better way forward.
Joining the meeting later, Musa Shey Nfor CamCCUL’s President who doubles as the Bamenda Chapter president explained that following this year’s theme “we have been to orphanages and other places to reach out to the needy as part of cooperate social responsibility.”
The Bamenda event, according to the organisers, is the launching event to pave the way for celebrations and manifestations at the chapter level.
Ngum Godlove General Manager of the Bamenda Police Cooperative Credit Union, Azeh Chrysantus president of the Nkwen Cooperative Credit, and other representatives from Bayelle, MITAYEN and others answered present.
According to the program presented during the meeting, there will be a mass movement of credit union members from some points in the city to the Bamenda congress hall for the official launching of this year’s event with Northwest Governor expected in Attendance.
