KPDC negotiates for loan

Kribi Power Development Corporation (KPDC) is currently in a negotiation for a long-term loan with the International Finance Gas Corporation (SFI) for the extension of an energy infrastructure which needs 216 megawatts (MW).

This operation is to make it possible to mobilize an amount of 65 billion francs CFA in order to increase the capacity of the power station to 330 MW. However, KPDC is in negotiation with local banks, on the increase in loan discount of SFI.

The negotiation which is still in progress with the local banks would be finalized in October 2014, whereas the signature of a financing agreement with the SFI is expected in the first quarter of 2015.

The market for the extension of the power station of the gas in Kribi was entrusted to the Finish Company, Wartsila. The total cost of the investment is 173 billion francs CFA.
