Construction works at the Lom Pangar Hydroelectric Dam is over 92% complete.
The project which started since 2012 will be completed by August 2016 instead of March 2016 as earlier planned.
Project directors and employees at the construction site are intensifying efforts to ensure that their dream come true by August 2016.
The partial filling of the Dam with water started in December 2015. Presently, the workers are at the final stage.
The Lom Pangar Dam is an embankment Dam originating from the Lom River, situated 88km from North of Bertoua in the East Region, and 13km from the Sanaga Maritime.
The purpose of the dam which is part of a larger dam cascade on the Sanaga is to produce hydroelectric power and to regulate water flows along the Sanaga River.
The rehabilitation works has been financed by the African Development Bank, the World Bank and the European Investment Bank.
The China International Water and Electric Corporation is presently the sole firm constructing the Dam and power plant.
