French industrial group Cegelec, thanks to a group of companies gathering its Moroccan and Cameroonian subsidiaries, has just been awarded a FCfa 9 billion contract, for the "conception, supply, assembly and commissioning of the 90 kV high tension line", to be built between Lom Pangar and Bertoua, in the Eastern region of Cameroon, we learned through an official communiqué.

This electricity transport line is a component of the hydroelectric development project for Lom Pangar, which includes the construction of a dam capable of holding 6 billion cubic metres already partially flooded in September 2015, the construction of a plant with a production capacity of 30 MW and the construction of a transport line in order to provide electricity to villages in East-Cameroon.

According to the schedule of the Lom Pangar projects, construction works for this 120km-long transport line should last a year. Once completed, it should provide 150 villages with electricity, thanks to the 30 MW produced by the plant at the foot of the Lom Pangar dam project.
