MTN Cameroon CEO, Karl Toriola, announced during a press luncheon Aug. 21, 2014 in Douala, that the daily activity of the leading company in mobile telephony in the country, "employs 200,000 young people."
And "its every day impact confirms MTN as a key player in the national economy, which supports the development of local SMEs and values Cameroonian skills," he said.
Indeed, in addition to its own employees, MTN employs a network of hundreds of thousands of young Cameroonians generally provided by SME subcontractors and other business partners for distribution or for the permanent promotion of its products.
To continue to provide support to the Cameroonian youth, plagued by problems such as unemployment, MTN Cameroon announced the launch this week of an ongoing program to detect and promote young talent in Cameroon in the areas of music, education and football. This program is called MTN YEP.
