An important stock of farming inputs have been offered to farmers in the South West region as government’s efforts to assist farmers increase coffee and cocoa production in the region.
During a number field visits that began at the Barombi Kang research centre, the Minister handed over fungicides and spraying equipment to farmer’s association.
He indicated the fungicides are mainly intended to revitalize the aging cocoa and coffee farms, some of which have been abandoned.
The Minister’s next stop was at SOWEFCU where he had fruitful exchanges with representatives of farmer’s cooperatives from the six divisions of the South West Region.
On the occasion, Essimi Menye encouraged the farmers to work within organized groups in order to get optimum benefits from government’s subsidies and training.
