Minister of SMEs launches new website for sales and exhibition

The Minister of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises, Handicrafts and Social Economy, Laurent Serge Etoundi Ngoa inaugurated the virtual gallery code-named “cameroongallery.com”, at the Yaounde International Handicraft Centre this 20th October 2016.

The website has been conceived with ten rubrics containing the different categories of crafts that are put on exhibition or for sale. These are:Wood sculptures, Furniture, Instruments, Masks, Clothes, Jewelry, Food craft, Decorations, Foot wear and Head wear.

Apart from just exhibition and sales, the website shall be a forum for information exchange; artists will be given the opportunity to exchange with their colleagues from a distance.

There is also a section for social media interaction and a possibility of downloading an application for mobile phones.

During the launch, Minister Laurent Serge Etoundi Ngoa saluted the initiative, indicating that it falls in line with Government’s resolve to develop the digital economy to enhance growth.

The craftsmen on their part are contented and say that cameroongallery.com is a milestone to self-reliance and visibility.

The e-commerce website is being managed by Maxine Moffet.
