The Minister Emmanuel Bonde formalized amenities Monday in Yaounde, with companies which invest more than 45 billion F and generated nearly 5,000 jobs.
The Act of April 18, 2013 of incentives for private investment in Cameroon bears new fruit. The Government, represented by Emmanuel Bonde, Minister of Mines, Industry and Technological development (Minmidt) proceeded in signing agreements with five new investors, all of which are local businesses.
In this case, the breweries industry of Samuel Foyou (BRASAF SA), which invest nearly 30.5 billion F in the brewing industry employs 995 people, followed by the company African pool construction (APC SA), involved in the industry of building materials. It proposes to invest 8.2 billion F and recruit 480 workers.
Then comes the Cameroonian SOAP company (SCS), which will inject three billion in the manufacturing industry and generate 152 jobs. Then there is the company, First Industry Cosmetics (FICO SA) with an investment of 2.7 billion in the chemical industry for 350 workstations.
Finally, we have SCOOP Antolem cooperative society, which brings more than a billion in agribusiness and is expected to generate 2,500 jobs.
The ceremony yesterday, "is a response to interpellation by the President of the Republic who, in his speech to the nation on December 31, instructed them to do more to ensure that private investment more than in the past, contributes to economic growth in Cameroon", explained the Minister Emmanuel Bonde. With the new agreements, the number of beneficiaries of the incentives Act passes to 18.
Since September 2014, 13 companies have signed agreements with the Government as "had already been signed on 2nd April, bringing to 14 the total number of agreements signed in fiscal 2014", said Marthe Angeline Minja, Executive Director of the Agency for the promotion of investment (API).
She explained that there are only four companies this time because "sponsors are of known Cameroonian businessmen with good records that were easy to complete. But there are several other applications pending, which may also lead to favourable opinions within a few weeks."
Minmidt announced the continuation of the campaign for the promotion of the law on incentives, "with more offensive and a particular emphasis on the regions of the country, in order to find the economic operators where they are located.
