PM encourages private investment in the hotel sector

Philemon Yang Wednesday, on behalf of the head of State, inaugurated hotel la Falaise hotel in Yaoundé. The hotel capacity is said to have increased by 125 new rooms Wednesday, with the entry into service of a new four-star establishment.

The Prime Minister, head of Government, Philemon Yang, in his capacity as representative office of the head of State, chaired the opening ceremony of the hotel.

Addressing the guests who came for the occasion, the president of the Board of Directors of the group, Pascal Monkam expressed his 'gratitude to President Paul Biya for the continuous interest and support to him.

The Prime Minister Philemon Yang, who transmitted the encouragement from the head of State to the promoter, recalled that "tourism has become in recent years a very important industry."

For the head of Government, it is one of the levers of the Strategy Document for growth and employment (OCSG) towards the emergence of Cameroon. Philémon Yang, said that the country which hosted 912 000 tourists last year, aims "to reached the milestone of 2 million tourists by 2015."

It is for this reasons that he revealed that Government encourages private sector, under the public-private partnership. The Prime Minister announced the readiness of the Government to accompany and provide facilities to all stakeholders who wish to engage in hotel promotion in the country.
