Paypal coming to Cameroon

Cameroonians can now make online payments and international transfers via phone or personal computers using PayPal, reports Reuters.

The global payments company entered ten new markets, including Cameroon, on Tuesday.

Cameroon had been cut off from PayPal since its creation because of high levels of financial fraud.

But more recently, online businesses have been on the rise and PayPal sees a potential market.

Nigeria, Ivory Coast and Zimbabwe have also joined the group of new countries that PayPal is expanding to.

The expansion brings to 203 the number of countries that PayPal, which is a part of eBay, serves.

“PayPal has been going through a period of reinvention, refreshing many of its services to make them easier to use on mobile, allowing us to expand into fast-developing markets,” said PayPal’s Rupert Keeley.
