Perenco appoint new director general

A new director general has been appointed for Perenco Cameroon, leader of oil production in the country since the acquisition of the assets of Total Exploration and Production in 2010.

Frenchmen, Benoît Fouchardière, will officially take office in the Cameroon subsidiary of Perenco Peru, in South America, next August and will replaces Denis Clerc-Renaud, who has held his position since 2009.

In his five years as head, he was instrumental in passing the production of the British oil firm in the country from 6000 to 65,000 barrels per day, thanks to the recovery of the assets of Total Exploration & Production.

Mr Clerc-Renaud also took the reins of Perenco Gabon, the establishment of the Central Kribi gas in partnership with KPDC, which carried out successful tests on the first gas-powered cars in the country, in partnership with the National Hydrocarbons Corporation (SNH).
