In the 10th consultation session of the bilateral relationship between Cameroon and Russia that took place in Yaounde last week, Russia’s Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs in Charge of Africa, Mikhail Leonidovitch Bogdanov announced a four year pipeline project that is worth a circa FCFA 21.8 billion.
The 50 years of diplomatic relations between Cameroon and Russia was established on February 20, 1964.
According to the Minister of External Relations, Pierre Moukoko Mbonjo, the high representation of cabinet Ministers indicates the high level in which Cameroon values her relationship with Russia.
For his part Mikhail Leonidovitch Bogdanov, Russia’s Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs in charge of Africa also revealed that the richness of his delegation was an indication that the Russian President, Vladimir Poutine strongly supports a relationship between the two countries.
The 10th consultation session focused on the cooperation between the two countries in domains such as economic, trade, technical exchange and diplomacy.
Also, the issue of insecurity in some parts of Africa was discussed.
The Cameroon and Nigeria threats from Boko Haram, Central Africa Republic crisis among others were discussed.
In January 2011, the Cameroonian delegation was in Moscow for the 9th session.
