SEMC records 36 million profit in first half of 2014

The first company listed on the Douala Stock Exchange recorded a profit of about 36 million in the first half of 2014, favourable news for the subsidiary of the breweries in Cameroon after two years of poor performance.

Society of mineral waters of Cameroon (SEMC) performed well if we look at the figures for the first half of the current year. The first company listed on the Douala Stock Exchange recorded a profit of 36.7 million against a loss of 33.7 million in the first half of 2013.

The activities between the two periods increased by 10%, and the turnover went from CFAF 4.2 billion to $ 4.9 billion. This progression "resulted mainly from an increase in the level of activity due to the launch of a promotion on the 1.5 litres on the market and the export sales", noted the semi-annual progress report for the shareholders.
