SNH "guarantees" employee pension - DG

In a letter addressed to the Ecofin agency last week, the Director General of the National Hydrocarbons Corporation (SNH), Adolphe Moudiki said that the company he heads "pays on time latest by the 15th of the month, salaries and their insurance contributions."

In addition Mr. Moudiki indicated that the National oil company engages itself to pay its share of both the old-age pension and family allowances and accidents.

He concluded saying that SNH stands out as one of those (businesses) which are fully up to date with their social security contributions. "

This reaction of Mr. Moudiki follows Ecofin's publication about defaults by the Top 10 companies in Cameroon, which do not pay returns to the National Social Security Fund (CNPS ) of social contributions levied on wages of their employees, thus jeopardizing the retirement benefits of these workers.

The publication was carried out after an interview with the CNPS internal magazine of their Director of recovery, Mr. Florent Zibi Ondoua, who had a list of debtors collated by the CNPS itself.

In this document which gives details of the results obtained from some social employers who default in their contributions," the SNH is ranked 15th with an estimated debt up to 1,527,309,739 CFA francs.

The Debt quoted was disputed by Mr. Moudiki in his letter to Ecofin.
