SOGEA SATOM wins contract to build east Douala road

Following a call for tenders launched in January 2014, the French construction company, SOGEA SATOM, has been declared winner of the contract for the construction of the penetrating road of eastern city of Douala, the economic capital Cameroonian.

The work will take 30 months and will cost 51 billion CFA francs, we learn. Funding is provided by the French Development Agency (AFD) and by the Cameroonian government.

About 13 Km long, the penetrating road will decongest traffic at the eastern exit of the economic capital of the country, especially for vehicles traveling to the regions of West and Southwest.

To recap, after a tough battle with RAZEL, SOGEA SATOM had already win, last year the contract for the construction of the second bridge over the Wouri river. Market value of 110 billion CFA francs.
