Veronique Makemtse Ngatcheussi epse Kengne, has been installed as the new Director of Finance and Accounts at the National Oil Refining Company Ltd, SONARA.
SONARA General Manager, Ibrahim Talba Malla, installed Kengne among four new directors, one technical adviser, three heads of departments and some service heads on December 16, 2015.
Kegne, who has served in SONARA, was approved by the Board of Directors on December 11, 2015, to replace Albert Leonard Dikoume. She had been Head of the Finance Department under the Accounts and Finance Directorate.
Meantime, Leonard Dikoume was moved to the position of Technical Adviser to the General Manager. He joins the Technical Advisers corps made up of Evelyn Martins, Epey Mbeng and Amadou Oumarou.
The administrative changes also brought in youthful Dr. Salvador Elo Manga Savio as the new Commercial Director of SONARA. He was the Head of the Department in charge of commercialisation of petroleum products from SONARA.
Abdel Azziz Replaces Dr. Manga
SONARA’s former Commercial boss, Mohaman Nayelwa, was made the new Director in charge of Quality, Safety, Hygiene and Environment. Nayelwa takes over from Derrick Takere, who continues with the task of overseeing the execution of the first phase of SONARA’s multi-billion Expansion and Modernisation Project programmed to be completed by June, 2016.
Talba Malla also installed a seasoned hand as the new Director of Internal Audits, Theodore Yves Mbappe Eyoum.
Eyoum, 51, comes in from the Directorate of Taxes at the Ministry of Finance.
The new Heads of Department are Achu Fon Acham; Head of Service in charge of Sales Administration and Market Studies. Appolinaire Betchem Watchok takes over from Kengne as the new Head of the Department in charge of Finance. The Department of Accounts Services is now headed by Richard Mouyenga. He will cumulatively head the service in charge of Costs.
While installing the newly appointed officials, General Manager, Talba Malla, exhorted them to be ready to work, bearing in mind that it is “team spirit and collective progress” that will move SONARA forward and not the strive for “individual success.”
Talba enjoined Kegne to, among other things, ensure an atmosphere of discipline and diligence within her service, and a more across-the-board collaborative spirit with other structures of the refinery.
Talba Malla reminded the staff and the new officials to work even harder for the success of the company, adding that SONARA remains Cameroon’s major life wire as far as the provision of the country’s fuel needs is concerned.
“In effect, my dear collaborators, SONARA has to succeed in its restructuring programme; realise its dream expansion and modernisation project and assure the refinery for the future. Our country so relies on our success in order to realise the development and emergence plans that the Head of State, Paul Biya, has put all his trust and confidence in as the key to ameliorate the lives of all Cameroonians,” Talba said.
