The Ministry of Mines, Industries and Technological Development (MINMIDT) has published a list of 21 companies authorised to sell mineral water in the country.
The release made public this 23rd March 2015 on the Ministry’s website seeks to restore order in the sector, following the proliferation of companies producing mineral water to meet the demands of the population.
With the existence of clandestine operators in the mineral water sector, the release clearly spells out the 21 operators that have licences to operate in the sector.
A Chief of Service at MINMIDT, Armand Bisso Ndille explains that the communique concerns three types of mineral water operators: those dealing in bottled mineral water, those dealing in sachet mineral water and those who provide both bottled and sachet mineral water.
Armand Bisso Ndille emphasised that companies not mentioned in the release are unauthorised.
In this regard, the Ministry of Mines, Industries and Technological Development calls on operators who have neither exploitation nor bottling licences to stop their activities or face sanctions from the authorities that be.
