Sanaga South gas production increased by 124% in October

The national hydrocarbons Corporation (SNH), arm of the State of Cameroon in the petro-gas exploitation, announced a substantial increase in gas production. The increase recorded 9,160 million feet cubes from end October 2014, an increase of 124 percent over the same period last year.

This increase in the production of natural gas is essentially the result of the activities on the Sanaga South field, off the coast of the seaside city of Kribi.

Indeed, according to statistics from the SNH, this field produced 8,130 million feet cubes from end October 2014, totalling more than 90% of global production, against 1,030 million feet cubes for the Logbaba field in the outskirts of Douala.

On this production, 8,220 million cubic feet was delivered to the company that manages the Kribi gas. "This level of consumption, although slightly' less than the minimum obligation is nevertheless an increase from 2013", underlined the SNH.
