Social Affairs: FCFA 5.6 Billion To Promote Social Inclusion

The strong need to step up efforts promote and protect the rights of vulnerable persons, efficient care delivery to children in distress as well as establishing a national solidarity system underlies the projected budget of the Ministry of Social Affairs which stands at FCFA 5,619,000,000 in 2016.

FCFA 4,689,000,000 is for the functioning of services while FCFA 930,000,000 will be used for investment if the budget is adopted. The priorities for 2016, according to Social Affairs Minister, will include; the reinforcement of education and sensitisation on the prevention and fight against disabilities and other social ills, the establishment of a social protection base, the improvement of the social protection system of socially-vulnerable persons, amongst others.

The Ministry will also pursue the diversification of social service supply, acquisition of equipment for structures of the central and decentralised services as well as rehabilitate buildings of decentralised structures.
