Turkish products fair opens

The over 44 stands received finishing touches on Tuesday to host win-win B2B exchanges.

The stage is set for Turkish businessmen to showcase their prowess in Cameroon for four days in the Turkish products Fair that kicked off yesterday September 24, 2014 at the Turcam Hall in Mvan, Yaounde.

Between September 24-27, the Turkish businessmen drawn from the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce which today counts about 362,000 companies will be seeking to clinch business deals with their Cameroonian counterparts for the future.

At the exhibition village September 23, finishing works were on high gear in the over 44 stands spread over a surface area of 4,100 square metres. The road leading to the site was under rehabilitation while the already mounted exhibition stands with names of participating companies were being tidied for perfect business showing.

In a chat with Cameroon Tribune on the site, Omer Karahmetoglu of the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce said the products to be showcased throughout the fair are wholly Turkish made. These among others include automotive, cleaning and construction materials, consumer goods, cosmetics, electronics, textile, furniture, souvenir products, electrical household appliances and food items.

The site has been divided into two parts; the story level to host 14 VIP companies from Turkey as well as some prominent organizations in Cameroon like the Ministry of Trade, GICAM and the Investment Promotion Agency. Meanwhile, the floor level with over 30 stands will host the rest of the companies.

According to Kerim Boysan of Turcam Hall, the aim of the show is not necessarily to sell and make money but, “to clinch business contacts for sustainable win-win business even after the show.” Reason why Business-to-Business (B2B) talks are on the menu to share experiences and better the performances of each other for the mutual benefits of the two countries.

Bilateral meetings are also programmed at exhibition booths with target to expand areas of cooperation as well as evaluate business opportunities.
