West African Minerals gets encouraging results on Sanaga iron

The licenced Iron project, Sanaga South, 60 km from the Port of Douala, continued to reveal to the company, West African Minerals Corporation the indices that meet the criteria required for the development of a project of magnetite in a difficult iron ore price.

This was an appreciation made 21 October by Brad Mills, president of the mining company, after the drilling was intercepted by several metamorphic rocks with a thickness varying between 40 and 220 m with a 39-42% iron content.

Mr. Mills indicated that the proximity to the Port of Douala, the Douala-Yaoundé railway 10 km and a facility for electricity which, support the profitability of the project and the rapid changeover to the production phase.

"We have also started a definition drilling program in compelling recognition program, by setting on a goal of approximately 100Mt resources", said Brad Mills.

The drilling included 1729 m of diamond drilling and stopped, according to the company listed in London, several mineralized zones of magnetite and coarse-grained gneiss. Preliminary metallurgical testing of the samples by ALS Laboratories, have shown an average grade of 69% iron.
