"Contribution of employers to the emergence of Africa", this is the central theme of the meeting between employers of Central Africa and officials from the West, which is to be held in Douala, the Cameroonian economic capital, from 9 to October 10, at the headquarters of the Groupement inter-patronal Cameroun (Gicam).
According to Gicam the meeting aims to create a dynamic of cooperation and partnership between the employer organisations of the UNIPACE and FOPAO (two umbrella employers in Central Africa and the West), to accompany the development of the Mainland companies and boost trade between African countries.
Concretely, it will be a question to "imagine a device to involve business leaders in the emergence of 2nd generation agriculture in Africa; the groundwork for development of synergies and mechanisms for pooling of resources such as guarantee funds, investment funds; considered a concerted initiatives to seize large-scale market opportunities through joint ventures, the establishment of consortia, etc."
