Managers of some wood processing enterprises in the country have been trained on management strategies and operational marketing with the goal of beefing up their activities for them to live better and ably contribute to the country's socio-economic development.
The 16 managers were trained within the framework of the Competitive Value Chain Project jointly managed by the World Bank and the government of Cameroon through the Ministry of the Economy, Planning and Regional Development.
The training session which ran from May 5-16 in Yaounde centred on second and third generation processing. Participants were schooled on determining strategies, action plan, and follow up of realizations for better profitability.
Speaking during the closing of the training session on Friday May 16, the National Coordinatior of the Competitive Value Chain Project, Françoise Soua Ntyam, said the project targets growth-induced sectors of the economy. She said the development objective of the Competitive Value Chains Project for Cameroon is to contribute to the growth of the wood and tourism value chains in the country by improving their competitiveness and the investment climate. She announced other trainings for the months ahead.
