'Ya-Fe' ends

The end of year festive period has ended along with the Yaounde annual Trade Fair referred to as 'Yaounde en Fete' or 'Ya-Fe' .

It was an uneventful afternoon of Sunday 4th January 2015 at the Ya-Fe exposition grounds with the usual affluence and visitor traffic reduced. Some exposition stands were already closed indicating the end of the exhibition fair.

Some curious Cameroonians had come to experience the last hours of the fair which is expected to come up again in December 2015.

It was evident from the entrance to the grounds that the two weeks of overcrowding had ended. Proof to this, some visitors had a hard time entering the grounds that afternoon due to the scarcity of coins indicating the exceptionally low number of people visiting on this last day.

Few excited children could be seen around, having last minute fun before the school year resumes this 5th January 2015.

On a business outlook, most businessmen say they are satisfied with the sales turnover during the exhibition but even more satisfied because they were given the opportunity to exhibit their goods and services.

Visitors on their part were satisfied with the variety of objects that were placed on the stands notably games for both children and adults; an innovation they hope will continue.

As the close to 120 stands are dismantled signifying the end of the trade fair, music lovers have fun memories of the enthralling presentations of guest stars like Coco Argente and other budding artists within the country.
