Four robbers arrested for the theft of FCFA 100 million

On November 18, four members of a gang of six were under questioning at the Judicial Police in Bonanjo, according to an internal source.

These individuals were arrested Friday by elements of the Pj anti-crime Brigade, following the theft of 99,665 million francs from West African merchant shop (citizen of Guinea Conakry).

According to a source close to the investigation, the trader was in possession of a little more than 138 thousand US dollars and 25 million Cfa francs. An amounts which did not completely belong to him as several other traders had given him money in view of a journey he was to carry out in Europe and Asia.

On the eve of his trip, his shop was broken into, and the money taken away. The trader therefore notified the Pj, and the first member of the band was arrested in the vicinity of Akwa Palace hotel, in possession of 20 thousand US dollars that he wanted to change.

After questioning, it allowed them arrest three other accomplices, one at Deido, another in Bata Congo and the third at a place called Pk 13. Two other members of the band are still on the run.
