Man arrested in Ndogsimbi for attempted rape

Ngouloupe M., 55, will soon appear in court for charges of raping minors. At the moment, he is detained at the gendarmerie brigade at Mboppi.

Last weekend, he caught Mylena, 11 years old, who was at a classmate's in Ndogsimbi. The man in his fifties, claiming to be sick, asked the child to accompany him home to render a service. But once there, he locked the door, held the small girl and tried to undress her. She struggled, screamed alerting a neighbour who came to the rescue.

The teenager was pulled away from the clutches of the pedophile. The mother of Mylena lodged a complaint and Ngouloupe was arrested. Shortly after, another lady accused the suspect of having abused her 8 years daughter, who underwent a surgery for anal sex in the hospital.

According to brigade commander Isidore Youmbissi, the actions of this man was suspected to be a ritual of a sort. Ngouloupe explained that a conjurer from the village told him to violate girls to 'remove' bad luck in order to find a job.
