Roger Danbe, awaits transfer to Ngaoundéré prison

Roger Danbe, age 34, is currently detained at the regional Division of the judicial police in the Littoral, pending his transfer to prison in Ngaoundéré from where he escaped October 9, 2013.

Thus, after almost 11 months on the run, he was caught on 1 September at the Omnisports neighbourhood in Douala. He was housed at a friend, a traditional practitioner. Elements of the special team of police rapid intervention unit were able to get hold of him thanks to information provided by the Commissioner of the autonomous port of Douala.

Roger Danbe had feigned illness and obtained a permission to go to the hospital where he escaped. Notice of his search had immediately been initiated by the Commissioner in the Ngaoundéré prison, prison where the habitual criminal had a firm sentence of 6 years after conviction on 12 September 2012, by the Court of first instance in Ngaoundere for scam in conspiracy.

Indeed, with his accomplices, "Idrissou Sali" as he is fondly called had extorted 91 million cfa france from a businessman. They thus submitted their victim a bag believed to contain 800 million F. for the "Sales" of tickets. The amount paid by the businessman was meant to be used to purchase a product "cleaner" but it turned out to be only a vast scam altogether.
