The alleged bandit was recognized by his victim while on his motorcycle. The victim immediately gave an alert, and the ill-fated was apprehended by a raging crowd who was about to lynch him when two people from the security forces intervened.
The victim, a man who is believed to be in his thirties said, “This gentleman is an aggressor; he had ripped me off my bag, my phone and my wallet about a week ago. At 9pm, I stopped a motorcycle not far from here, a few meters further from another individual I later realized was his accomplice.
The man happened to stop the same motorbike and mounted after I did. I found myself in the middle of the two bandits. Not far from the bridge of Olezoa, the driver pretended there was a failure. When he pretended to descend, his accomplice gave me a punch. He pulled a dagger from his pocket and I was forced to give everything I had”.
Asked about the circumstances of the incident, the alleged bandit did acknowledge having snatched the purse of his client, because, he said, the victim did not want to pay the fare.
The accused was not recognized by the police officers at Olezoa police station where he claimed to have dropped the victim’s items.
