The Interior Ministry of Azerbaijan has disclosed that the five Cameroonians who died in an apartment in Baku were poisoned by carbon monoxide.
In a statement on its web site on January 1, it revealed that the Cameroonian citizens Njonjoh Hans Ekumun, Nzemele Esamble Linus, Senan Hke, Takem Paul Atah and Nikvanti Nombe Levisev were found dead in a house rented by the former, in Yasamal district.
The website further states that presumably they all died of carbon monoxide poisoning.
The investigation revealed that the water heater in the bathroom of apartment had burned down. Meanwhile Investigation is underway into the fact. The Azerbaijan government has reportedly asked the Cameroon government to retrieve the corpses within four days

Three of the five Cameroonian nationals, were players of an Azerbaijani amateur football.
According to information, Senan Nike was also a player of SabunchuSpor, but he was later removed from the club.
