Sarkozy to reappoint Stephane Tiki as UMP president

Former President of France, Nicolas Sarkozy has decided to reappoint Stéphane Tiki as president of the UMP youth branch, once he received his residence permit.

According to the Canard enchaîné, the boss of the UMP sided up with Stephane Tiki, as he has no French nationality.

The situation caused a stir last week when it came to light that indeed Stéphane Tiki, had not renewed his residence permit reinforcing the fact that he lived in France illegally.

The Executive Board of the UMP met on February 11, 2015 and examined the case of the young Cameroonian, who was placed on self-leave from office.

According to the Canard enchaîné, the party spokesman confronted the management saying, "It is very wrong that we have such a case at the UMP; as in someone who is illegal at the head of Young Pop”.

This enraged Nicolas Sarkozy, who appointed Stéphane Tiki president of UMP youth.

"Tiki is a formidable campaigner, kind, devoted, generous and one who loves France. And be aware that when he has his papers, I will reappoint him to perform his functions”, he said assuredly, according to Le Monde last week.

According to the Canard enchaîné, the president of the UMP threatened those who dare to criticize this choice: "This morning, I received an MP who asked me to sack Tiki. I told him that I would rather sack him”!
