Cameroonian actor and director, Agbor Gilbert Ebot has been nominated for the Nigerian Entertainment Awards under the category Best Director: (Africa).
This is huge for the Cameroonian film industry as it is still struggling to develop. For a country with no cinemas and a very high rate of piracy, it is amazing that some still believe in their dream to tell stories through films.
The Nigeria Entertainment Awards (NEA Awards) was established in New York City in January 2006 to serve the growing African population in North America.
It is an annual event focused on recognizing the contributions of African Entertainers to the entertainment industry.
It is a good thing Cameroonian film makers and actors are getting acknowledged and re-compensated. Hopefully Agbor brings the award home. Best wishes to him.
