Chinese artists flaunt culture at Congress Hall, Yde

Chinese artists from Hunan, a province in China lit up the Congress Hall Tuesday in Yaounde with a brilliant performance. These Ambassadors of Chinese culture unveiled the rites and customs of their region, to a receptive Cameroonian audience.

Spectators, including the Chinese Ambassador to Cameroon, Wo Ruidi, and guests of honor, enjoyed this cultural hike. They were able to delve into the essences of a folk music from a corner of the world they visit thanks to the power of art. A tide of emotions swept the room, lulled by the delicate sounds of the Orchestra of traditional Chinese music.

Various life scenes were told in songs, dances and acrobatics. Cultural cooperation between China and Cameroon was one of the main motivations of this show; therefore, Chinese artists gave way to "Otitie", a traditional dance group from the Southern China.

The artistic collaboration between the two nations was even more expressive at the close of the show, when braving the language barrier, the Orchestra from Hunan, accompanied by dance from the "Otitie" group interpreted: " Je vais à Yaoundé", by Tala André Marie, an apotheosis to mark woven ties between these two countries.
