Christian Nana launches, 'Cultures from here and elsewhere,' a new artistic and cultural platform. It was presented on 14th January in Yaounde.

The originater of idea said that he realized that, the Cameroonian cultural landscape lacked space of expression that can both serve as place of performance, laboratory and promotion of cultural projects.

This observation was made by a team from the Museum, the “Blackitude”. Christian Nana, conducted Wednesday in Yaoundé, in the Multi-purpose room of the eponymous Museum the presentation of the new concept 'Cultures from here and elsewhere’.

According to Christian Nana, 'Cultures from here and elsewhere" is an artistic and cultural platform initiated to serve two major purposes; 1. facilitate cultural exchanges and promote framework, 2. and also to train potential carriers of cultural projects."

It comes specifically to encourage exchange and collaboration between Cameroonian cultural actors first and then foreign cultural actors.

In terms of training, it comes to coach and accompany all those who are carriers of cultural projects through the training as one of the modules will focus on the business case for cultural projects.

According to Christian Nana, the strategy of the Museum, the 'Blackitude' is to invite innovative promoters to present their finds to them to have it evaluated and disseminated around the world.

The purpose of this initiative is to enable culture to participate in the development of Cameroon. As noted by one of the exhibitors, Fernand Ghislain Ateba, noted that "a country emerges when its culture is kept alive".
