Lady Ponce remains an icon of Cameroon music - Emperor Dady

Emperor Dady has declared Lady Ponce as iconic when it comes to Cameroonian music. He made this statement during an interview with culture.com on the production of music albums in the country.

He stated that some would be of the notion that the comeback of Lady Ponce was due to the evolution of her younger sisters, Coco and Mani who took the country by storm.

As he puts it, “Does that mean ‘Poisson fumé’ will dethrone ‘Pala Pala’ by Mani Bella or Coco Argentee’s ‘Fallait Pas’? Well, we’ll see, but one thing is for sure, Lady Ponce remains an icon of the song”.

Aside Lady Ponce, he also made mention of the consistency of Govinal Ndizinga Essomba who has a 33 year career and released his album on October 20.

According to him, he had the privilege to listen to the album before it was released and attested that it was up to standard.

“He did not borrow his competence, he remained the Govy we love with great lyrics in his songs”, the Emperor said.

The media mogul also mentioned the contribution of Josco and Uncle Ebogo towards the music industry in Cameroon. He said the album they each released were phenomenal and unique.

Meanwhile, renowned media mogul in Yaoundé and manager of Magic Fm, Jean Pierre Zibhino Fouda has endorsed Emperor Dady as one of the best leaders of his generation.
