The song “Koumatekel…Assia” will be officially presented during the broadcast of Jambo on Sunday, April 17, 2016, on the Canal 2 International TV channel.
“Koumatekel…Assia” is the title of the new song of the Cameroonian artist Longue Longue that will be making noise on our radios and TVs. This tube is a tribute to Monique Koumatekel, the lady who passed away on March 12, 2016, in Douala, at the Laquinitinie Hospital while carrying a twin pregnancy.
According to sources close to the artist, the official release of that song is scheduled for Sunday, April 17, 2016, live from the “Jambo” TV show on the airwaves of Canal 2 International. We learn that any income in respect of this song will be donated to the family of Monique and her children.
If the initiative of Longue Longue is hailed by many users, especially on social networks, others see it as an opportunistic maneuver for the artist to garner a few pennies.
Longue Longue is not the only Cameroonian artist to promise a song in tribute to Monique Koumatekel. A few weeks ago, Richard Bona, the famous Cameroonian bassist had also expressed such an initiative.
The bodies of the woman and her twins are still kept at the morgue of the Laquintinie Hospital in Douala. The funeral program has not yet been established.
In a report last week (Thursday, 31 March 2016), the National Order of Physicians of Cameroon indicated that Monique Koumatekel had died well before her arrival at the hospital.
A thesis that joined what had already supported the Director of the Hospital and the Minister of Public Health, Andre Mama Fouda. The family of the victim in turn continues to assert the contrary.
