Organisation of a Workshop on the Elaboration of a Strategy Proposal to Relaunch Cameroonian Cinema in Buea.

From August 31st to September 2nd 2016, the Ministry of Arts and Culture (MINAC) will organise a Workshop on the Elaboration of a Strategy Proposal to Relaunch Cameroonian Cinema in Buea.

This workshop is under the framework of revamping of cinema and audio-visual production in Cameroon, which is a political necessity and a social exigency, perfectly in line with the general technological move, where the Terrestrial Digital Television (TNT) has become a tool with international norms.

Like other African countries, ours has in principle since July 2015, engage its digital switch over. Also for the Ministry of Arts and Culture that technically oversees the contents, it is the cinematographic and audio-visual subsector that is at the centre of activities, with multiple technical exigencies as regards training, regulation and support, in order to instate ideal conditions which favour the creation, production and broadcasting of filmic works.

The participants who are for the most part cinema and audio-visual professionals are hereby expected to propose a strategy in view of identifying actions and short-term measures likely to impact cinema and audio-visual production in our country.

This will be an opportunity for MINAC to have a new tool likely to facilitate decisions and produce results within the shortest time possible, from a triannual action plan to relaunch cinema and audiovisual production in Cameroon.
