After Buea, the exercise will continue in other major cities in Cameroon.
Five girls have stood tall at the pre-selection of Miss Beach auditions that took place in Buea on April 4, 2015. Miss Mouketey Lynette, a student of Political Science and Administration at the University of Buea, convinced the jury of three. She was closely followed by Essenen Dicka, Tagne Diebo, Agbortarh Nadine and Obolia Oluchukwa (Nigerian), from second to fifth in this order.
The jury focused on oral expression in English and French, reasons for participating and the future plans of the pageants if they are crown winners.
There were 42 contestants for the crown, and they had to undergo a series of conditions. The criteria were as follows: Body movements such as gestures, aesthetics in make-up, hair do, body structure and complexion and attitude such as smiles. This criteria was the requirement for the first round of selections in which only 10 girls had the opportunity to make it to the second round of pre-selection.
The organiser of the event, Yann Anoko, General Manager of Seme Beach, told Cameroon Tribune that the same exercise shall be done in other major towns between April and May 2015 in which young girls, especially University and High School students, will reveal the best of themselves.
He stated that in years to come, the competition will extend to some parts of Africa like Nigeria and Congo. The turn of Douala is April 11 and shall be followed by Ngaoundere on April 17.
Prospective pageants will march on the podium in Yaoundé on April 18 with Dschang having the last lap on April 25, 2015. The organizers say the date of the final competition shall then be been set after all the pre-selection exercises.
The event that marked the beginning of the 7th Edition of Miss Beach auditions 2015, took place in Buea on Saturday 4th April, 2015, started in 2009 with the aim to promote African beauty through young female students. It equally enables them to express and reveal themselves with greater opportunities.
The Seme Beach Hotel eneral Manager said it is a forum that offers relaxation and leisure opportunity to the public while promoting partnership. The occasion brought together artistes, companies, fashion designers, modeling agencies and media organs.
