Quincy Jones, Ama Tutu Muna promote Cameroonian culture

In Las Vegas, the Minister of Arts and Culture and the famous American promoter mobilized the business and cultural community.

The tasks assigned to the Department of Arts and Culture (Minac) consist of the promotion of arts and artists, toward the revival of production and creation.

After several years, despite the establishment of a trust account to contribute to the recovery of our culture, the site is still pending because of the lack of expertise and structures from those of our compatriots who claim to be producers.

Despite the billions of francs at the disposal of artists for more than 10 years, the results are invisible. For a better structuring of the activity of production in our country, and with a view to finding ways and to implement the instructions of the president of the Republic and benefiting from a series of performances by the national Ballet, the head of this Department, Ama Tutu Muna, visited the United States at the head of a delegation of artists and producers.

In Las Vegas, first stop and city of show business, she in turn met the boss of Mgm, the largest hospitality industry and entertainment, Vice-President of Coca Cola, huge sponsor of events thus recommended many men of arts and culture including the iconic and highly respected Quincy Jones Jr. With the latter, he had received assurance of his DNA test which confirmed that his grandparents were of Cameroonian origin.

Under the leadership of President Paul Biya, our country has adopted a law on national heritage which seeks inter alia to establish a file of goods and persons owned our roots. The reconstruction of the said heritage is therefore at the centre of the actions of the Minister of Arts and Culture, which for years spared no effort to meet those who had Cameroonian blood.

AMA Tutu Muna seemed so convinced that their contribution to the evolution of Cameroon will allow to hoist the country at first hand, in an environment where the intermingling and mixing of cultures will be the basis of carrier development and hope for future generations.

Therefore taking the opportunity of the holding of the 105th Convention of the Naacp, , one of the oldest associations which in the United States, Minac led the national Ballet at the meeting during which the Group gave numerous performances at Mandalay Bay.

This Convention registered the participation of many high personalities from the political, economic, media and cultural including the American vice-president, Joe Biden, who like President Barack Obama, is an honorary member of the Naacp, with Roslyn Brook as his chairman. AMA Tutu Muna also met with the chairman of Mgm, the Vice President of Coca Cola, the boss of General Motors, William Corneille, senators and members of Congress.
