Quinta Eyong Ashu is one of the prominent female actresses in Cameroon today. Her tantalizing lead role in the series "Bad Angel" currently screened over CRTV has revealed a captivating character skill of the "Bad Angel" she incarnates in the series, much to the admiration of viewers.
To Quinta Eyong Ashu, acting started as a passion and grew into a career which has led her to act in over 40 movies in the country. These movies include; Before The Sun Rise, The Blues Kingdom, Clash of Inheritance, Great/Neglected Obligations, Land of Shadows, Jungle of Heirs, Broken Covenant, Far, Moments of Sorrow, Tchanga and Inoma, Bad Angel and Dark Side etc.
After acting most of her movies for free and at times contributing in cash and kind just to see the project come to life, Mummy Quinta as she is popularly called says she is currently enjoying her acting career to an extent as she is being compensated for jobs done though not adequately.
Born in Fiango, Kumba into the Elads family, Quinta Eyong attended University of Jos Plateau State in Nigeria where she obtained a degree in Social Sciences.
But because of her love in theatre art, upon her return from Nigeria, she got married to an intelligent and dynamic man, Mr Arrey Eyong Ashu, who encouraged her to reconsider acting when a film project was presented to her by Mr Agbor Gilbert Ebot in 2004 ( Before The Sun Rise).
This marked the beginning of her career as an artiste. Looking back through those early years as an actress in Cameroon, Quinta Eyong says the film industry has grown tremendously though with enormous challenges.Today she enjoys respect, praises and popularity of being an actress.
While acknowledging the fact that stardom is sweet Mummy Quinta who is also a professional designer who also loves farming, hopes that one day she will have the opportunity to act with her francophone colleagues as well as go international by joining Nollywood, Bollywood and why not Hollywood.
