The artist and author of the hit song "Je Taime A Mourir" won the trophy of "Regional artist of grand centre" at the 2nd edition of the ceremony organised by Radio Balafon on 18th December at Saint David in Bonanjo in Douala.
"I am always told: your song is famous here in Douala and yet I have never done promotion in Douala." When I was approached by the Organizing Committee of this ceremony, I was not really sure. I went there without really knowing what it was. I was nominated best artist of Grand Centre, said Val Chamar on the antennae of Afrik 2 in Yaounde.
Originally from the Lékié, the young woman is a Cameroonian artist that has already won the hearts of the Yaounde folks with "Je Taime A Mourir".
For Cyrille Bojiko, Director of radio Balafon and promoter of the said event, "it is time to promote the trades of music Art in Cameroon to reward those who work for the promotion of the Cameroonian music. And create the challenge to boost the creativity of the artists, and above all, to reveal the real talents of Cameroonian music.
This will allow us to offer to the public a show produced by great music talents and finally, to strengthen awareness of Radio Balafon in the field of entertainment."
